Omega-3 fish oil is a rich source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), essential fatty acids which play an important role in the metabolism of prostaglandins involved in inflammation. Research has been carried out into the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids taken in conjunction with Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), the most commonly used method of pain relief for joint discomfort, and found to be of benefit in joint comfort. Since Jointace® is a 100% nutritional formulation, it can be taken alongside NSAIDs and other treatments if desired.
