Cardioace® is the first and only supplement in the UK to combine the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids with garlic, antioxidants and important trace minerals. In fact, it is the most comprehensive, research-based nutritional supplement for a healthy heart and circulation. The new, advanced formula helps safeguard levels of nutrients vital to the heart, helps balance cholesterol levels in the blood, and helps to maintain the elasticity of blood vessels. It also provides the nutritional building blocks for key enzymes in heart health.
The Cardioace® formulation includes omega-3 fish oil, a rich source of EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid). Humans probably evolved on a diet with a ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids of approximately 1 to 1, but today we consume many more omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3s – between 10 to 25 times more!
Omega-3 fatty acids may play an important role in regulating blood pressure, cholesterol and trigylceride levels. The EPA in omega-3 fish oil is also thought to be a direct source of an important substance responsible for making blood platelets less sticky, which may mean an easier flow of blood throughout our bodies.
Garlic is included to help balance 'good' (high-density) and 'bad' (low-density) lipoproteins through its role in helping to regulate cholesterol production by the liver. Garlic may also help to maintain normal blood pressure.
B vitamins and Homocysteine - the new heart linkVitamins B6, B12 and folic acid work in synergy to help maintain healthy lower levels of a blood amino acid called homocysteine. Analysis has revealed that high levels of homocysteine are a strong independent factor in heart health, accounting for as much as 10% of the combined influence of all known factors in heart health.
Antioxidant protectionVitamin E may be beneficial for heart health through its key role defending against free radicals, which cause oxidation. Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), commonly known as 'bad cholesterol', is the main supplier of cholesterol to tissues. When LDL becomes oxidised, it gives rise to foam cells, one of the constituents of artery plaque. High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) scavenges for free cholesterol in the tissues and transports it back to the liver, so it is known as 'good cholesterol'. Oxidation of HDL interferes with its role in cholesterol transport. Antioxidants like vitamins E and C help to defend against free radicals, which can oxidise LDL and HDL, and may therefore be beneficial for heart health.
Based on the latest researchThe Cardioace® formulation is based on the very latest international findings on the role of nutrients in heart health, as well as numerous studies in the past 20 years. Backed up by almost 200 key references, Cardioace® was developed with the help of leading scientists and with input from the University of Reading, Department of Nutritional Science.
